To start, apologies for missing last month.
Family tragedy drew me away most of October, and I did not have time to put together the normal event. While there’s still much to settle with that, I did manage to work out this month’s meetup.
We are making 61 Local our permanent home. There are several good reasons for this; namely, we have such a warm relationship with them, and changing venues from month to month bore little benefit and more likely detracted from community cultivation. A homebase makes it easier on all of us to organize and coordinate, grow and improve — to focus on the importance of community. That 61 Local is also themselves focused on sourcing food and drink locally and sustainably is a terrific bonus.
And of course, It’s not to say that we’ll never hold events elsewhere if it aligns with and promotes our values. But we are very excited to grow with 61 Local.
In case you need a refresher, or are visiting for the first time, 61 Local is deliciously Brooklyn-centric public house just outside the F/G Bergen Street train stop, featuring 17 beer taps and a menu stocked with local food and drink. All in an airy, beautifully designed space.
Thanks for being a part of the BKLYN Green Drinks community, and we look forward to seeing you next week and beyond!61 Local:
